this is a beautiful and ornate extra large square scarf (34”) from the 70s featuring a decorative abstract sewing threads print in a rich palette of navy blue, gold, ivory, and browns. the vintage scarf is signed by the French-Belgian designer Daniel Hechter who founded his namesake label in Paris in 1962. the fabric is untagged but it feels like a silky polyester and it has a bit of a shine.
it’s the perfect multi functional scarf for summer as it can be worn as resort wear by tying it into a bandana triangle cover up top or a twisted bra top, as a head scarf, a neck scarf, and of course worn loose over the shoulders as a shawl!
